I'm a keen hiker since 2004. I made a trip to New Zealand that year and discovered that there was not much else to do than hiking, so I gave it a try. Since then I got addicted and go out every weekend for hiking, climbing and lately also moutaineering.
In winter I used to snowshoe a lot but since my skiing got a little better over the years I now rather go ski touring.
I made this trip as part of a field session of an ACC avalanche course. We made some snowstability tests above Red Heather shelter and practiced navigation in avalanche terrain while skiing along the summer route.
From the high point we turned around and skied back to the parking lot. This was an excellent course and I just can highly recommend taking the ACC course which is offered once a year.
