This is an overnight trip: 9/24-25.
We picked the west side of Rainier, so it would block smoke from the east.
We had to make a 10 mile detour to the White River ranger station for a walk-up permit at Spray Park.
Saturday: climbed Observation Rock
Sunday: hiked out via Mother Mountain area (over Knapsack Pass).
Plenty berries at Spray Park.
Lots of dead beargrass (need to visit here in July?)
Great fall color.
Very busy TH. Just walking on the road back and forth is at least 0.5 miles.
