A very warm weekend. Flowers are in full bloom. Some mosquitoes. Not too bad. Lots of people from Sunrise to Frozen Lake. Still quite a few all the way to Skyscraper Mt trail junction. Afterwards, just trail runners and backpackers, and not much view until the lake. Dusty trail.

Mystic Lake is about 11 miles from Sunrise. 1900' loss (from Winthrop Creek crossing to Mystic Lake, it's all uphill), 2700' gain on the way back. The lake is beautiful. We camped at Mystic Camp. Total 7 sites. It's below the lake, and a bit far. No view at all. Spent quite some time at the lake, ate dinner, swam.
We did a bit more. Continued west on Wonderland Trail. Scrambled up Old Desolation Peak. Loose rocks, not advised, but good to get high for great view.
