Surprising 4 season hike!
Yup, still checking off more low elevation hikes that are in my 'neighbourhood' so to speak.
Bear Mountain in Mission is a mountain bikers haven... great for hikers and trail runner too, but wear bright clothes and stay alert no matter what trail you choose. ... I really enjoyed all the trail options... the mountain is covered with trails. This place is one of those roll your own adventure type places... give yourself lots of time and explore!
Hail, rain, fog, sun, humidity, bugs, wind, you name it... it was an adventure for sure. It seemed like there were way more hikers and cyclists on the lower sections of the mountain, but saw no one higher up.
Please take a map and a couple gps devices (and my track ;)... it is easy to get turned around and find yourself on the lowest part of the other side of the mountain.
This was a clockwise loop that peaks at the "Bear Mountain Lookout". Each trail is marked properly with a hip height sign and lots have some sort of handmade whimsical custom placard.
Stay safe and have fun!
Regards,
Rex
