Huge Squamish Wind roaring down the valley, massive spindrift plumes coming off the Tantulus range, and ice crusting almost the entire trail from sea to summit, made for an amazing adventure on the Chief on Sunday. It was a fabulous hike primarily because we had micro-spikes in our shoes. Saw many people attempting the hike without micro-spikes both going up and coming down and it looked treacherous, uncomfortable, and downright nasty. With the spikes, it was a safe, and very enjoyable hike.
