SUMMARY: A short part of the trail to the 1st bridge is paved and easily accessible. A more rugged trail, labelled "moderate" continues down to the 2nd bridge. There is a possibility of going even further down into the canyon by the "difficult" route, and that trail crosses small creeks and and is close to the edge of the cliffs. create

We hiked Lava Canyon after returning from Ape Canyon. This is very fun. The first 1 mile loops is partly wheel chair accessible. Beautiful waterfalls. Nice swing bridge.
We continued down to the bottom of the canyon floor, following the tumbling water. Trail here is partially steep and narrow, not for inexperienced hiker. The "Ship" is a nice short spur trail for a good view of another sets of waterfalls. There's also a ladder involved. This part is in and out.
