Didn't want to waist the beautiful day today and had no one to do my fun hikes with so...decided to explore Jones Lake area. I also wanted to check out as to where the Lucky Four Mine trail was. Next year I plan on conquering Conway Peak! :)
In any event, we found a few overgrown logging roads to explore on foot which provided a bit of fresh air, exercise and nice scenery. Ran into a grouse and a couple of chipmunks. The lake is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges and glaciers. Perfect for photo opts. I did bring my Nikon today so I was very excited. I think we may have found the only flower left! Unfortunately, they have done a lot of logging in this area and today was burn day! It made for a little hazing over the glacier scenes. I haven't been up here for years. It has actually become very bare. So much forest has disappeared. :(
A perfect spot to set up camp and set off early in the morning to trek up Conway! Lots of nice campsites. Its run by BC Hydro I believe. Unfortunately, I did find that a lot of people had left their beer cans and garbage up there. Even stumbled on a full can! Score!...lol Just Kidding. :) In any event, it was a nice way to spend the day and not waist the lack of rain!
I know its not really a splendid hike but, it can take up a few hours for you exploring and I wanted to share some nice pics.
Happy Hiking!
