Due to the rainy weather, we thought we would head over and check out the caves at Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park after we walked around Cathedral Grove. We were planning on just snooping around the caves that are open to the public by ourselves but we decided to take a small tour with one of the guides once we were at the visitor centre and we were very happy we did. The guide was very knowledgable and took us at a good pace and explained much about the geology and history of the caves as we went. Going on a tour also gives you the benefit of getting to go into the gated caves, and helmet rental is included in tour pricing. We went through Main Cave with the guide, which had several ladders, areas for climbing (including up an underground waterfall) and even a slide under an overhanging rock shelf. The tour helped us get used to the caves so we were ready to explore Lower Cave and Andre's Annex after we were done with the tour. Short trail up to Andre's Annex was nice to stretch the legs after being in the dark. Turning off the lamps at one point in the tour to experience absolute darkness was an interesting experience. Overall, this was a super unique and enjoyable activity and highly recommended if you are in the area and the weather is not co-operating, or even if it is. Big thanks to the park staff and guide who were very helpful, knowledgable and kind
