You can walk up to almost to the top of Amabilis in street shoes. The road is groomed. The last ~30m/100' may need snowshoes of you don't want post-holing.

Very busy on the road. I did a clock-wise loop. Everyone crowded on the west side. Not sure why. No view on the west side either.
If you don't have time to get to the top, walk to the east side. Just above the junction, you get some good view to the south.
