This hike starts off a wander through some pretty birch wood forest. After a while you'll come to a sign which says climbers left, hikers go right. We ascended the climbing route, a steep climb through the trees until it breaks out into open scree/gravel slopes below a myriad climbing routes. You'll come around the right of the mountain and find blue painted squares marking the scrambles route. It's easy to lose them at times as there are multiple sub summits and braiding along the trail. This is 99% hiking with one section where chains are provided to bypass a traverse of about 100m. Once past the chains you again contour, drop down a bit, and make the final summit approach. You have the option to return the same way or descend off the back of the summit through scree and easier trails circumventing the front of the mountain. We chose that option as loops are always more fun and we got to see the face which had coal deposits and interesting rock features. Finally we return via the easy "hikers/horse trail" which was a little longer than taking the scree straight down. On the route we saw a big horn sheep at the top and a lake in the shape of a heart.
