It was a mixed group of skiers and showshoers, but all equally had fun.
Road does not need 4x4 car, but needs a driver who does not care about car's paint job - you can park as soon as you decide that car had enough scratches.
From wherever you parked it's road walk - all alder - till the actual start of a 'trail', which is a continuation of bushwalk but on a steep ridge.
There was almost no snow till reaching 1300.
From where you are out of woods and crossed the steep scree slope - it's gradual rounding the Ring Mountain till an 'opening' in the wall of rocks. This could be dangerous during winter time or when there is enough snow accumulated above but this time it only required proper sidehilling technique.
From below the opening - it's either zigzaging for skiers or straight up for snowshoers till you reach the rim and eventually the wide snow-covered plateau with no prominent peak. Cairn is set close to the rim to mark the final destination, should you need it.
It's possible to do a circle on the rim and then slide/ski the same path you came up.
Great views all around on your way up and when you do the circle on the rim but in order to better close-up view of the surrounding mountains you need to encircle the plateau as well.
