A solo winter walk on the Perimeter and Old Cabin Trails at Mount Seymour Provincial Park. North Vancouver, BC.
I've long been curious about the old cabins at Seymour, and had kept an eye out for them along the perimeter and Old Cabin trails, but had only ever seen the Scout Cabin 22 that's back there.
Today I went a step further, and bushwhacked down a ways to see if I could see anything. I was pleased to notice the cabin pictured in this photo set, as well as a partial view of 1 other one. Since it was slippery and I was alone, and because I know the cabins are private, I didn't get too close. But I hope to be back one day to see a few more of them!
I would love to have a little old cabin!
Trails have just under 3 inches snow right now and were easy to travel on in boots with poles. Not icy. The trails actually looked like they had been flattened by Seymour staff. Rain picked up though after a few hours and things got really slushy. A nice outing on a short day.
