Enroute to visit my parents, sister and niece in Lethbridge I took up a plan to do some wilderness backcountry adventuring into the Skoki region east of Lake Louise at my half way point in the rugged Rockies. I arrived, got a campsite, and decided to go up to Lake Louise to take in the view and do an evening walk. I thought of doing the stroll to the end of the lake and back but as soon as I saw the trailhead sign for Lake Agnes, though already about 4:30 pm Mountain Standard Time, I went up! It turned out to be a good vigorous walk that stretched my lungs, my heart, and my legs. It was a good break in for the hike to follow the next day. It was a climb of 1570 feet! Evening walk was 8.8 kilometers.
