Mainlanders are spoiled?!?
Again, I selected a Top 10 hike and I have to be honest... I am finding the reviews of the Vancouver Island stuff seems to be on a different scale than the mainland. OR... we are just spoiled with some really stellar hikes... I will leave it for you to decide... but I only gave this 3/5 stars. Its just a forest hike, up the spine of a ridge without any real payoffs until you have already gone over 8km. Decided to turn around when it did not appear to get any better and I was already pretty tired from the previous days, so cut it short.
I definitely have to return to the island again. There is much to see and do that is not the common Top 10 ... and special mention goes to the drive to this trailhead. I seemed to enjoy that more than the hike itself. (I was going to appended a few photos from the drive... but I decided against it... check it out yourself :)
Be safe and have fun out there!
Regards,
Rex
