Elk Falls was a spectacular surprise. Originally my travel companion and I went to inspect a suspension bridge making the waterfall itself a sight to see. From the parking lot it is a nice, short stroll to the suspension bridge overlooking a thundering waterfall. Despite the two of us have a slight fear of heights, we somehow managed to brave across the expanse (without looking down at the churning waters below). All over the park there are warning signs indicating water levels may spontaneously rise following the blare of an alarm from a dam nearby.
With newfound knowledge in mind, we wandered off to investigate the areas at risk of flooding. There are many trails in the area, and it seems to be a popular location to roam considering the number of people present in the evening.
It was a nice way to stretch our legs after traveling most of the day!
