This is the second time we went to Cheakamus Lake this year. Last time was in late April, the Cheakamus Lake Service Road was still closed. We have to divert and parked at Loggers Lake Parking area and took us an additional 6km to walk up to the Cheakamus Trailhead via Don Maclaurin Suspension Bridge. This time the service road was opened, the road condition is pretty rough, but any vehicle should be able to make it to the trailhead. The trial is well maintened with clear markers. No snow on trail. When you see the first pole sign, you can turn right to Helm Creek direction, for a short walk you will reach a metal suspension bridge and Cheakamus River, this is a great viewpoint for pictures. Then return back to the main trail for another 5.5 km to Singing Creek. This is an easy 14.8 km hike with awesome views, took us 4.5 hrs to complete including lunch break and photo taking. A perfect family day hiking destination.
